\n\tRolling Stone has revealed the marquee pairings for the publication\u2019s upcoming Musicians on Musicians series. Set to take the stage live for the October 23 event at New York\u2019s Beacon Theatre<\/a> are Jack Antonoff<\/a> and Hayley Williams<\/a> and\u00a0Role Model and Mar\u00eda Zardoya of The Mar\u00edas. James Austin Johnson of\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/em> will serve as the night\u2019s MC and moderator. Also slated is a performance by Antonoff\u2019s band Bleachers.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe franchise, which launched in 2019 and last year featured Doechii, Brittany Howard, Busta Rhymes and GloRilla at Harlem\u2019s Apollo Theatre, also hit the road in 2025, bringing insightful musical conversations to cities like Austin (Charley Crockett and Noeline Hoffman), New Orleans (Tank and The Bangas and David Shaw of The Revivalists) and Washington, D.C. (Big Freedia and Jake Wesley Rogers) in partnership with Sonesta International Hotels.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Wednesday night, New York\u2019s Shelburne Sonesta hosted Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker in New York for an intimate chat and performance. The pair have collaborated for over six years, after first meeting at a frat party in Colorado, where Zucker was performing. The two shared a musical bond through SoundCloud, where both had been posting \u2014 and admiring \u2014 each other\u2019s music.<\/p>\n

\n\tSince that fateful connection, Cutler and Zucker have released a trio of collaborative projects \u2014 Brent, Brent II <\/em>and Brent III<\/em> \u2014 on the heels of their first song together, \u201cBetter Off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs soon as we wrote \u2018Better Off,\u2019 we were like, \u2018Whoa, this is crazy,\u2019\u201d Zucker said. \u201cSomething special happened when we made music together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Brent<\/em> series, Cutler recalled, also evolved organically. Recorded in a cabin in her home state of Connecticut (Zucker, who recently released a full-length album titled Garden State<\/em>, is a native of New Jersey), what was a single session turned into days of musical output. \u201cWe definitely never went into the creation of Brent thinking we\u2019re gonna make a project,\u201d she said. \u201cWe just had a really great time hanging out and making music. \u2026 We had no clue what was gonna happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe mutual admiration during their talk was palpable. \u201cMy favorite thing about Jeremy\u2019s solo music, and it\u2019s coincidentally and conveniently what I also of about our collaborations, is that Jeremy is probably the most deliberate and intentional songwriter and producer that I\u2019ve had the pleasure of getting to know and listen to,\u201d Cutler said from the stage.<\/p>\n

\n\tAdded Zucker of Cutler\u2019s latest release, If I Could Just Stop the Time<\/em>: \u201cIt really reminded me of your early stuff \u2014 in such a heartbreaking and devastating way \u2026 that I really connected to. Your voice is amazing and what you write is amazing. And I could dig into it for hours, but I won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPrevious Musicians on Musicians pairings in Rolling Stone\u2019s<\/em> print edition and online platforms have included Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift, Elton John and Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo and Alanis Morissette, Lorde and David Byrne, Pharrell and BTS\u2019 RM and Zach Bryan and Bruce Springsteen, among others.<\/p>\n
