Don Cheadle<\/a><\/span><\/strong> can\u2019t help but gush about his wife, Bridgid Coulter<\/strong>, when it matters most.<\/p>\n

Before accepting an award at the HollyRod Foundation\u2019s<\/span><\/a> 2025 DesignCare Gala on Saturday, October 4, the private couple shared a rare glimpse into what they admire most about each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a great mom, a great wife, an amazing entrepreneur and designer,\u201d Cheadle, 60, exclusively shared with Us Weekly<\/i> at NYA EAST in Los Angeles. \u201cShe\u2019s just a solid citizen, and it\u2019s been 30-plus years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Crash<\/i> and Hotel Rwanda<\/i> actor began dating Coulter, 57, in 1992. They secretly got married<\/span><\/a> during the coronavirus pandemic in 2021.<\/p>\n

While Coulter appreciated her husband\u2019s kind remarks on the red carpet, she had a bit more fun with her answer.<\/p>\n

When asked to share what she admires most about Cheadle, Coulter joked, \u201cHe\u2019s cute. It\u2019s all about the looks, and he\u2019s very talented, of course!\u201d<\/p>\n

Holly Robinson Peete<\/strong> and Rodney Peete<\/strong> awarded Cheadle and Coulter with the Clarence & Jacqueline Avant Humanitarian Award at their foundation\u2019s annual gala. The honor is reserved for individuals whose compassion, advocacy and selflessness create lasting impact.<\/p>\n

While Cheadle serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme, Coulter has created transformative spaces of belonging, leadership and creativity for women of color and allies through the Blackboard Collective and Blackbird Alliance.<\/p>\n

Back in June 2021, Cheadle first confirmed that he was a married man when he appeared on an episode of <\/i>The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/i><\/span><\/a>. At the time, guest host Wanda Sykes<\/span><\/a><\/strong> apologized for not knowing the actor was already married until he texted her with the personal news.<\/p>\n

Cheadle quickly told the comedian there were no hard feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I mean, that\u2019s understandable, given that we\u2019ve been together 28 years before we got married,\u201d the Oscar nominee joked. \u201cI hold you blameless.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the pair \u2014 who share adult children Tai and Imani \u2014 try to keep their romance off of social media and away from the public eye, Coulter acknowledged that being honored by the Peete family\u2019s charity was a big deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t really do a lot together in public,\u201d she said alongside her husband. \u201cThis is only because of the cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

The HollyRod Foundation is dedicated to providing compassionate care to those living with autism and Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n
