David Byrne and Hayley Williams have enjoyed a close personal and working relationship for the past several years, and their chemistry was evident last night (Oct. 11) at New York\u2019s Radio City Music Hall, where the Paramore frontwoman made a surprise appearance for two songs.<\/p>\n
The artists reprised their collaboration \u201cWhat Is the Reason for It?\u201d from Byrne\u2019s latest album, Who Is the Sky?<\/em>, and Williams returned later to lend a hand on Byrne\u2019s cover of Paramore\u2019s 2013 song \u201cHard Times,\u201d which he\u2019s played at every show so far on his in-progress North American tour.<\/p>\n More from Spin:<\/p>\n What\u2019s more, Byrne and Williams\u2019 previously announced contribution to the Netflix animated film\u00a0The Twits<\/em>, \u201cOpen the Door<\/a>,\u201d is out now ahead of the movie\u2019s Oct. 17 release date. Byrne wrote and produced three other original songs, \u201cWe\u2019re Not Like Ev\u2019ryone Else,\u201d \u201cLullaby\u201d and \u201cThe Problem Is You,\u201d for the project, which is based on characters by Roald Dahl and boasts voice acting by Natalie Portman and Emilia Clarke.<\/p>\n \u201cShe has an extraordinary rapport with her audience,\u201d Byrne told People<\/em><\/a> of seeing Williams perform with Paramore at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden in 2023. \u201cIt\u2019s very sincere and very close, which I made note of. I just thought, that\u2019s really amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n Byrne concludes his four-night Radio City run tonight and has dates booked in North American through Dec. 6 in Miami. Dates in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and Europe begin Jan. 14 in Auckland.<\/p>\n
