Mandy Moore<\/strong> <\/a>has reacted to Diane Keaton<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s death, nearly 18 years after they played mother and daughter in Because I Said So.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cThey say don\u2019t meet your heros but I got to work with one of mine and even call her \u2018mom\u2019 for a few months. An honor of a lifetime,\u201d Moore, 41, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, October 11. \u201cWhat an incandescent human Di is and was.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI am so sad she\u2019s gone for all the reasons but also because it felt like she\u2019d be here forever, dazzling us with her talent and charm (and her style, c\u2019mon)!!! One of the very best to ever do it. All my love to her children and loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore shared more tributes to Keaton via her Instagram Stories, writing, \u201cGod, I love her. [A] legend forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

News broke that Keaton died at the age of 79.<\/span><\/a> She is survived by her two children, Dexter and Duke.<\/p>\n

Because I Said So<\/i><\/a><\/span>, which was released in 2007, was among Keaton\u2019s iconic filmography. She starred as Daphne Wilder, a polka-dot-wearing baker hyperfixated on introducing youngest daughter Milly (Moore) to The One. The movie also starred Lauren Graham and Piper Perabo as Daphne\u2019s other daughters.<\/p>\n

Moore, for her part, recently recalled her set experience during an appearance on Kylie Kelce<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cNot Gonna Lie\u201d podcast in July.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love Because I Said So<\/i>, it\u2019s this film I did with Diane Keaton,\u201d Moore told Kelce, 33, this summer. \u201cI mean it\u2019s Diane Keaton, she\u2019s just like, on a pedestal to me, it was such a bucket list experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keaton similarly loved the experience of working with the This Is Us <\/i>alum on the romantic comedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love Mandy. The thing about Mandy is, what I really love about her, she\u2019s just a little workhorse, like a filly out there,\u201d Keaton told Collider<\/span><\/a> in 2007. \u201cShe loves to work and you can see her progress as an actress. She\u2019s a very emotional actress but she\u2019s funny, she\u2019s adorable and she\u2019s beautiful to look at. In this movie, she looks to me like Claudia Cardinale. She\u2019s got this gorgeous face [and] It\u2019s going to be really interesting to watch her in life. I think she\u2019s going to be really surprising.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Keaton revealed how her own parenting journey helped inform her character.<\/p>\n
