Yet she nurtured a fledgling co-star.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDiane was a good friend and very kind to me during the filming,\u201d actor <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/09\/james-caans-godfather-co-star-on-working-together\/\">Gianni Russo<\/a> recalled to The Post on Saturday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Diane Keaton played the wife of Al Pacino\u2019s Michael Corleone in \u201cThe Godfather.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Russo, 81, who played Carlo Rizzi,\u00a0vicious husband to Michael\u2019s sister Connie, played by Talia Shire, said Keaton was always there if he needed her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe couldn\u2019t believe \u2018The Godfather\u2019 was my first movie.
