(WJW\/AP) \u2014 Diane Keaton, <\/a>the\u00a0Oscar-winning star of \u201cAnnie Hall,\u201d\u00a0\u201cThe Godfather\u201d films and \u201cFather of the Bride,\u201d whose quirky, vibrant manner and depth made her one of the most singular actors of a generation, has died. She was 79.<\/p>\n People Magazine reported Saturday that she died in California with loved ones, citing a family spokesperson. No other details were immediately available, and representatives for Keaton did not immediately respond to inquiries from The Associated Press.<\/p>\n Legendary actress Diane Keaton dies at age 79 <\/a><\/p>\n Keaton\u2019s last social media post<\/a> dates back to April, on National Pet Day. It shows a photo of Keaton with her Golden Retriever, Reggie, and the caption reads: \u201cProof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton<\/a>\u201c<\/p>\n The unexpected news of Keaton\u2019s death was met with shock around the world \u2013 and many took to social media themselves to remember her.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star.
