The Woman King<\/a> <\/em>star Sheila Atim<\/a> has been tapped to play Akasha in the upcoming third season of AMC\u2019s Anne Rice\u2019s Interview with a Vampire<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>which is titled The Vampire Lestat. <\/em><\/p>\n The news was unveiled at New York Comic-Con during a panel featuring executive producers\u00a0Johnson\u00a0and\u00a0Hannah Moscovitch, and cast members\u00a0Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Bogosian,\u00a0Assad Zaman\u00a0and\u00a0Jennifer Ehle.<\/p>\n Season 3 of the show follows rockstar Lestat (Reid) and his band on tour.\u00a0Other new stars for Season 3 include Noah Reid as Larry, Ryan Kattner as Salamander, Seamus Patterson as Alex and Sarah Swire (The Boys) as TC. <\/p>\n Akasha was notably played by Aaliyah in the 2002 film Queen of the Damned<\/em>, which is based on Anne Rice\u2019s The Vampire Chronicles <\/em>and served as a standalone sequel to the 1994 Interview with a Vampire <\/em>film. <\/p>\n More news came out of the \u201cImmoral Universe\u201d from NYCC, as Anne Rice\u2019s Talamasca: The Secret Order<\/em>\u00a0had its NYCC debut with with a panel featuring\u00a0executive producer\u00a0Mark Johnson, who oversees Anne Rice\u2019s Immortal Universe for AMC Networks, showrunner and executive producer\u00a0John Lee Hancock, sereis stars Nicholas Denton\u00a0and\u00a0William Fichtner, and special guest star\u00a0Eric Bogosian.
