The victory was San Diego\u2019s first since Aug. 16. The Wave (9-8-7) scored half as many goals on Saturday night \u2013 three \u2013 as they had in 10 total matches since the National Women\u2019s Soccer League\u2019s international break ended two months ago.<\/p>\n
With the win, the Wave moved from eighth place to sixth in the National Women\u2019s Soccer League standings with just two regular-season matches remaining. The top eight teams make the playoffs.<\/p>\n
The clubs were tied 1-1 during stoppage time at the end of the first half when Kate Del Fava of the Royals (5-12-7) scored an own-goal, giving the Wave a 2-1 lead.<\/p>\n
