Aubrey Plaza crashed tonight\u2019s episode of Saturday Night Live <\/em>for a sketch about The Hunting Wives<\/a><\/em> season 2 in which she joined the series as a new cast member \u2014 and it didn\u2019t take long for actresses Malin A\u030akerman, Katie Lowes, and Jaime Ray Newman, as well as novelist May Cobb, to share their reactions to this steamy, hilarious, and epic SNL<\/em> moment.<\/p>\n

Hosted by Amy Poehler, this brand-new episode of SNL<\/em> included a sketch satirizing the hit Netflix series based on May Cobb\u2019s bestselling novel, The Hunting Wives<\/em>, which follows a group of socialites in Texas such as Margo Banks (A\u030akerman), Jill (Katie Lowes), Callie (Jaime Ray Newman), and Sophie O\u2019Neil (Brittany Snow).<\/p>\n

After exploring the \u201csex, lies, and loaded guns\u201d of the Netflix show<\/a>, the sketch included one last gag: Aubrey Plaza herself entering the scene as the \u201cnew<\/em> new girl\u201d of The Hunting Wives<\/em> universe\u2026 And let\u2019s just say that the women got into it.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for Lowes to post a video of herself alongside A\u030akerman and Newman watching the SNL<\/em> sketch on a phone, backstage during the 35th EMA Awards Gala at the Radford Studio Center in Studio City.<\/p>\n

The actresses laughed throughout the entire SNL<\/em> sketch, and had an even more intense reaction to seeing Plaza joining the scene and bringing up the heat. Their reaction video (included below) ended with the three Hunting Wives<\/em> stars making an open invitation for Plaza to join season 2 of the show<\/a>. \u201cCome play with us!\u201d<\/p>\n

May Cobb \u2014 the author behind this 2021 psychological thriller novel that\u2019s become a Netflix sensation \u2014 was also excited about this SNL<\/em> sketch involving comedy legends like Poehler and Plaza.<\/p>\n

Though Cobb didn\u2019t necessarily add to the discourse, she shared a video of this SNL<\/em> moment and linked to a Deadline<\/a><\/em> article about the sketch, suggesting that she was pretty thrilled about the whole thing.<\/p>\n
