Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong> <\/a>counted herself lucky to work with the late Diane Keaton<\/strong><\/a> not once \u2014 but twice.<\/p>\n

\u201cDiane Keaton has been a point of inspiration for countless actresses. I include myself among those who loved and admired her,\u201d Parker, 60, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Sunday, October 12. \u201cI was very privileged to witness her singular skill and talent on both First Wives Club <\/i>and The Family Stone<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

News broke on Saturday, October 11, that Keaton died at the age of 79<\/a>. The Oscar-winning actress, who is survived by her two children, starred as Annie Paradis in 1996\u2019s The First Wives Club<\/i>, a buddy comedy where a trio of women (Keaton, Goldie Hawn<\/strong> and Bette Midler<\/strong>) plot revenge on their exes, who all leave them for younger women. Parker appears in the flick as Shelly Stewart.<\/p>\n

Nine years later, Parker and Keaton worked together again on 2005\u2019s The Family Stone<\/i>. In the romantic comedy, Parker played Meredith Morton, who visits\u00a0 boyfriend Everett Stone\u2019s (Dermot Mulroney<\/strong>) family over the holidays. Keaton portrayed matriarch Sybil Stone, who disapproved of the soon-to-be engaged couple.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThere\u2019s no place like home for the holidays! The Family Stone put a new spin on a popular Christmas movie trope and proved to be an underrated gem. The film, which was released in December 2005, stars Sarah Jessica Parker as an uptight businesswoman who celebrates Christmas with her boyfriend\u2019s eccentric family. \u201cI will cherish those memories on set, as well [as] her touching, delightful and perfectly own cinematic career, which is a gorgeous legacy of an exquisite person,\u201d Parker added in her social media tribute. \u201cShe will be terribly missed. RIP and Godspeed you glorious creature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mulroney, 61, also mourned Keaton\u2019s legacy<\/a> on Sunday, sharing footage from The Family Stone <\/i>via his Instagram Story<\/p>\n

\u201cYou brought out the best in me, Diane,\u201d Mulroney wrote, alongside broken heart and praying hands emojis.<\/p>\n

Many of The Family Stone <\/i>cast \u2014 the remaining Stone siblings were brought to life by Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams<\/strong> and Luke Wilson<\/strong> \u2014 had been in awe of working alongside Keaton in the holiday blockbuster.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did wind up spending more time together and had a couple of nice dinners. It\u2019s very helpful,\u201d Wilson, 54, who played Ben Stone, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i>in 2021<\/a>. \u201cDiane \u2014 we all kind of admired her. In my mind, here\u2019s Sarah Jessica and she\u2019s this icon of fashion and humor from Sex and the City <\/i>and then here\u2019s the original icon of fashion and humor \u2014 Diane. \u2026 And then Rachel McAdams was great. I just remember those being kind of exciting, where you\u2019re going to dinner alone meeting all these people.\u201d<\/p>\n
