When Cole Dunmire’s guys stole the “Montague 50,” as it’s called, the guards they killed were under Bill Bevilaqua’s command, not Dwight’s. It was an honest mistake!

Anyway, another week, another Tulsa King recap. This one picks up the morning after last week, which saw Cole Dunmire try to earn his daddy’s approval by stealing $150 million in whiskey from Dwight’s operation while the big man was away. Now that he’s back from his secret spy mission with Agent Musso, Dwight’s not happy, and rallies the troops to make right what went wrong.

<dialog aria-label="Modal Dialog" aria-modal="true" class="fixed inset-0 z-4 size-full max-h-none max-w-none bg-white hidden"/>

To that end, the gang splits up. Tyson, who got the brunt of the beating, teams up with his dad (Michael Beach) stake out the underground Bingo game in hopes of roughing up Cole, while Dwight and Bill track down the truck driver who helped steal the booze. Bill tries the nice way (as nice as he can, at least), but his brief conversation with the driver ends with two bullets in the head. The first killed him instantly, and the second was just Bill venting a bit of frustration. Classic Bill.

Meanwhile, back in New York, Vince meets with Quiet Ray (James Russo), and the two begin to concoct some kind of plan, presumably to take a piece of Dwight’s Tulsa pie. The episode ends with Ray calling Bill in an effort to try and bring him onboard with whatever their plan is. The point is, they’re not thrilled with Dwight’s entrepreneurial endeavor with the booze, at least not without getting their beaks wet.

Meanwhile-meanwhile, Dwight’s special lady, Margaret (Dana Delany) comes up with her own scheme to help Cal Thresher win his race for Governor of Oklahoma. It’s all for Dwight’s benefit, since he’d be a politician in his pocket, but she also has her own motive, which is to get Cal to sell her back her prized horse ranch at a steep discount. It’s a much smarter version of revenge than what Dwight would pursue, but, well, Margaret is way smarter than pretty much everyone else in the show combined! When she tells Dwight, he’s not thrilled about it but knows he can’t stop her. After she all, she wasn’t asking for forgiveness nor permission, just keeping him in the loop as to her chess moves.

Meanwhile-meanwhile-meanwhile, Grace and Bodhi need something to do this episode, so they get stuck with an ill-advised subplot about creating an AI spokesperson/bourbon influencer for the whiskey, assuming they’ll get it back. I admit to chuckling when the AI character (who isn’t actually AI, thank goodness, but played by a real actor, Clayton Ferris) waved its six-fingered hand, but it’s a bit of cartoony humor that doesn’t really work for me. I’d rather see Bodhi and Grace on a date, especially since their interactions here hint at something of a mutual attraction.

Mitch and his budding redux relationship with Cleo Montague is also in “wheel-spinning mode,” but at least their scene, set at his home base, the bar, is bolstered by the lovely chemistry between Garrett Hedlund and Bella Heathcote.

Finally, back to the main plot of the episode, it turns out that I was right last week when I suspected that the stripper/exotic dancer was in on Cole Dunmire’s kidnapping of Tyson. But first, we get another great moment of bonding between Tyson and his dad. While I still can’t believe he survived literally getting blown up last year, if we get more scenes like the one between the two of them chilling in the car talking about “what a man should be,” I’ll take it!

Tyson and Big Daddy Tyson follow Serenity (the exotic dancer), who is driving around in Cole’s car. They follow her to the base of the operation, where Big Daddy Tyson suggests they rush in and bust some heads. Wisely, Young Tyson opts to call for backup, which sets up the final showdown of the episode.

Related: More TV Squad Tulsa King Stuff!

After Papa Dunmire drinks a generous pour from the Montague 50, he offers thanks to one person in particular… Not his son, who’s been practically begging for his daddy’s approval, but to God, because Dunmire the elder looks like every fire and brimstone preacher from the 1950s who raged against the evils of rock and roll music, right down to the horn-rimmed glasses and plaid jacket.

After storming off in a bit of a huff, Cole is captured by Dwight’s team, who offer a trade to the elder Dunmire: his son for the booze. Much to Cole’s chagrin, Dunmire asks for a sweetener, since God also sacrificed his son for “the greater good,” as he puts it. However, when it becomes clear that Dwight’s not bluffing, and that Bigfoot really will put a Desert Eagle round through Cole’s head, Dunmire backs down. The gang gets away with the booze, and nobody on either side gets shot (well, except for the truck driver from way earlier, but nobody will miss him.. And Bill’s two guys from last week, but they were forgotten pretty quickly, too).

Dwight and Margaret share a tender moment in bed where they come to an understanding about their respective plans. Stallone’s acting in this scene is particularly strong, and he and Dana Delany make for a great onscreen couple. The episode ends as Bill, driving home, gets a mysterious call from Ray in New York.

Zak’s Thoughts (I’m Zak)

<dialog aria-label="Modal Dialog" aria-modal="true" class="fixed inset-0 z-4 size-full max-h-none max-w-none bg-white hidden"/>

This one played out like “a day in the life” style of episode. When Dwight was away last week, the gang got into trouble, and now that he’s back, he makes them clean up their mess. Once again, I was wondering if it might blow up in their face, if Dunmire might be inclined to have his men open fire or even destroy the bourbon rather than let anyone else have it… But nope, the Manfredi Mafia managed to get away again!

I would have liked some kind of confrontation scene between Tyson and Serenity, but they don’t interact this episode. Maybe next week.

The episode gets a lot of humor out of Cal Thresher being completely oblivious to his own likeability. Neal McDonough does a great job of nailing the line, “My employees laugh at all my jokes” with a complete lack of self-awareness. The way his scene ends, with him asking his waitress if he’s funny and letting out an exasperated “fu*k!” when she politely rebukes his “specific” type of humor, is pure gold.

Another week, another no-show from Armond. I hope he’s okay! I’ll be very sad if something bad happens to him. I love that little guy.

Alright, that’s another Tulsa King in the books. Next week’s episode is called “On the Rocks,” which suggests the saga of the “Montague 50” will continue. Maybe we’ll see more of Dallas Roberts’ terror guy, too. And where the heck is Sam Jackson? I feel like he’s the Game of Thrones dragons. They’re coming, they’ll be here any episode! Just be patient! Okay, I’ll be patient. It was, indeed, awesome once the dragons showed up. Maybe they should get Samuel L. Jackson to play a dragon on the next Game of Thrones spinoff. I’d watch the heck out of that.

Related: Last Week’s Tulsa King Recap

‘ The preceding article may include information circulated by third parties ’

‘ Some details of this article were extracted from the following source www.yahoo.com ’

I have to make a quick correction about last week’s episode.
