Darius Rucker<\/strong> took the country music world by storm nearly two decades ago with the 2008 release of his first country album, Learn to Live<\/em>.<\/p>\n Two years later, the megastar, 59, dropped his second country album, Charleston, SC 1966<\/em>, on October 12, 2010.<\/p>\n The project\u2014which contains 13 tracks\u2014birthed two No. 1 country singles, including “Come Back Song” and “This.”<\/p>\n The highly successful album reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart<\/a> with over 100,000 records sold on the October 30, 2010 tally, per Billboard<\/a><\/em>. It later achieved RIAA gold certification<\/a>.<\/p>\n The South Carolina native had a very special person in mind when he created the uber-popular album: country music and songwriting icon Radney Foster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Foster, 66, received major recognition with the release of his first solo album\u2014Del Rio, TX 1959<\/em>\u2014in 1992. The Texas native was born in Del Rio in 1959, while Rucker was born in Charleston in 1966.<\/p>\n In an October 2010 interview with The Boot<\/a><\/em>, Rucker discussed how he was greatly impacted by the Foster & Lloyd<\/strong><\/em> singer, revealing that his second country album received its name largely due to the fellow country star.<\/p>\n “The main reason is because of Radney Foster. He came out with ‘Del Rio, Texas 1959’ back in ’92 and that was one of those light switch records for me,” the Hootie & the Blowfish<\/strong> frontman said, per the outlet.<\/p>\n “I wanted to pay homage to my idol, because Radney is my idol.
