Legendary rock frontman Roger Daltrey of The Who opened up about his health struggles earlier this year , and he made it clear that he is struggling. <\/p>\n
The 81-year-old said that he is still suffering from side effects and damage done by a bout with viral meningitis nearly a decade ago, and that he is also battling \u201cincurable\u201d macular degeneration that is taking his vision away. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s done a lot of damage,\u201d Daltrey told The Times.<\/b><\/a> <\/b>\u201cIt\u2019s buggered up my internal thermometer, so every time I start singing in any climate over 75 degrees I\u2019m wringing with sweat, which drains my body salts.<\/p>\n \u201cThe potential to get really ill is there, and I have to be honest, I\u2019m nervous about making it to the end of the tour.\u201d<\/p>\n Daltrey said he is also having issues with his hearing. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not going to be here much longer,\u201d he said at one point. \u201cIf I live another 10 years it will be way past anyone in my family.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite all of that, though, he has reportedly vowed to never retire.<\/p>\n Whenever the end does come for Daltrey, he will have left behind an amazing legacy in music. <\/p>\n He first began performing in 1959 and has put together a career filled with accolades.<\/p>\n He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, and the United Kingdom Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
