Movie lovers and cinephiles \u2013 and, yes, there\u2019s a difference, will find plenty to enjoy in the five-part documentary \u201cMr. Scorsese,\u201d an Apple TV+<\/a> limited series exploring the life and career of legendary director Martin Scorsese.<\/p>\n

Directed by Rebecca Miller<\/a>, wife of legendary actor Daniel Day-Lewis, it, much like the recent Billy Joel documentary that aired on HBO, gives fans a full picture of an artist who\u2019s known for his violent masterpieces such as \u201cMean Streets,\u201d \u201cGoodfellas\u201d and \u201cThe Departed.\u201d<\/p>\n

It would be easy to boil Scorsese\u2019s career down to such efforts. That would also be unfair as Miller so aptly points out across the doc\u2019s five episodes.<\/p>\n

Scorsese\u2019s work across film have been varied and on the same level with those mob-centric films. Those include movies such as \u201cRaging Bull,\u201d \u201cHugo\u201d and \u201cThe Last Temptation of Christ.\u201d By any account, he could have and should have had multiple Oscars for directing in his career, but\u2026that\u2019s the Oscars for you.<\/p>\n
