Four couples had their first dance to the sound of Lucy Dacus\u2019 \u201cBest Guess\u201d as she performed the record on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>. At the end of the song, the singer-songwriter made a seamless transition to the vow portion of her appearance, where she officiated weddings for her on-stage guests.<\/p>\n \u201cHi, everyone,\u201d Dacus said. \u201cYou ready to get married?\u201d The couple shared promises to give themselves to each other and to care for one another in their marriage, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. And with that said, they sealed their union with a kiss.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cBest Guess\u201d appears on Dacus\u2019 latest album, Forever Is a Feeling<\/a><\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s a song that is basically admitting that you can\u2019t control anything, you can\u2019t predict the future, but you can make your best guess,\u201d she told The New York Times<\/em>. <\/a><\/p>\n She performed the record at the New York iteration of All Things Go in September, inviting nine couples to the stage. Ordained by the Universal Life Church, she officiated at two of the marriages and signed the remaining seven wedding certificates as a witness.<\/p>\n \u201cI wish it was rote and it wasn\u2019t calling to mind any threats to people\u2019s rights,\u201d Dacus said about officiating marriages in the midst of our current political climate. \u201cBut I can tell it\u2019s coming up in everyone\u2019s mind, everyone who\u2019s onstage, everyone in the crowd.
