\n\tEsa\u00fa Ortiz\u2019s Discontrol <\/em>has topped\u00a0Billboard\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0latest\u00a0new Latin music poll<\/a>, published on Friday, Oct. 10.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn support of the weekly\u00a0New Music Latin roundup and playlist<\/a>, curated by\u00a0Billboard<\/em>\u00a0Latin and\u00a0Billboard Espa\u00f1ol<\/em>\u00a0editors, music fans voted for the Mexican artist\u2019s new album as their favorite music release of the week. Ortiz came in first place with 60% of the votes for Discontrol<\/em>. In second place, with nearly 40 percent of the vote, was La Nueva Ola de la Cumbia\u2019s \u201cLucha Libre.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tReleased via Esa\u00fa Ortiz Azuara and distributed by Sony Music Latin, the 14-track LP cements Ortiz as a rising force in m\u00fasica mexicana, opening with the title track that is a bona fide party anthem, fusing disco-tinged beats with regional Mexican instrumentation \u2014 showcasing the singer-songwriter\u2019s versatility from the get-go. \u201cDiscontrol\u201d sets the tone for Ortiz\u2019s experimental essence in the album, dabbling in hip-hop, pop, cumbia and electronica. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe album also includes his global viral hit \u201cTriple Lavada,\u201d which landed in Billboard<\/em>\u2018s Best Songs of 2025 (So Far)<\/a>. The song\u2019s remix, featuring Mexican heavy hitters Luis R Conriquez, Oscar Maydon, Alem\u00e1n and Victor Mendivil, closes Discontrol<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn April, Ortiz signed with Sony Music Latin and said in a statement, \u201cI have the best team to take my music to the next level and to the ears of everyone.\u201d He added, \u201d I believe we will do great things together, which makes me very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe poll also included new releases by Nathy Peluso, who teamed up with Rawayana for \u201cMalportada,\u201d Santa Fe Klan\u2019s \u201cWuare\u201d and Shakira\u2019s \u201cZoo\u201d for Zootopia 2<\/em>. <\/p>\n
