Gerry Turner<\/strong> will not be holding back in his upcoming memoir, The Golden Years.<\/em><\/p>\n In an interview with Us Weekly<\/a><\/em> published Monday, October 13, the former Golden Bachelor<\/em> star, 74, told the outlet he would be candidly sharing his side of the story regarding his divorce from his wife, Theresa Nist<\/strong>, in his book.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not worried; I think she [Nist] should be worried,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n Turner and Nist, 72, famously fell in love during the hit dating show in 2023<\/a> and tied the knot in a live ABC televised special titled The Golden Wedding<\/em> in January 2024. However, in April 2024, the couple appeared on Good Morning America<\/a><\/em> and announced they were getting divorced.<\/p>\n The TV personality told Us Weekly<\/em> that part of his reasoning for writing this book was because \u201cthere were some perceptions that I wanted to put on the right track.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe question was constantly, \u2018Why are they getting divorced so quickly?\u2019 And I was, I believe, made out to be a villain,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were strongly advised not to make any independent statements [after GMA<\/em>]. Literally 48 hours later, she was making a statement to social media,\u201d Turner explained. \u201cAnd I go, \u2018No, that was not what we agreed to do. That was not our plan.’\u201d<\/p>\n Turner also told Us Weekly<\/em> that he felt Nist wasn\u2019t forthcoming about her career ambitions during their relationship.<\/p>\n \u201cOn the show, I asked Theresa if she was ready to quit her job. She said, \u2018When I meet the right guy, I\u2019m ready to end my career,’\u201d he claimed. \u201cWhat I heard was, \u2018There is a woman who\u2019s going to be willing to travel, to have some adventure to do, some things that I consider and that we should consider fun.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then after the show, she always went back to, \u2018Well, I really want to keep working,’\u201d Turner shared. \u201cAnd that just pretty much makes it an impossible situation.\u201d<\/p>\n However, looking back, Turner did admit he made his own mistakes in the relationship.<\/p>\n \u201cI was a bit naive; I was a bad listener,\u201d he confessed. \u201cI didn\u2019t probe well enough, and that\u2019s both for my sake and for Theresa\u2019s.
