Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner<\/strong> is set to release his memoir, The Golden Years, on Nov. 4. It’s been two years since Turner appeared on the franchise spinoff, which proved to be wildly popular. Despite seemingly finding love on the show, however, things didn’t work out for Turner and his season pick, Theresa Nist.<\/p>\n Turner and Nist got married \u2014 on television, no less \u2014 but they split about three months later.<\/p>\n In his new book, Turner offers a look at things from his perspective. And, on the inside pages, he explains why he isn’t the villain in this love story.<\/p>\n In an interview with Us Weekly<\/a>, Turner opened up about the book \u2014 and sent a swift warning to his ex-wife.<\/p>\n “On the show, I asked Theresa if she was ready to quit her job. She said, ‘When I meet the right guy, I\u2019m ready to end my career.’ What I heard was, ‘There is a woman who\u2019s going to be willing to travel, to have some adventure to do, some things that I consider and that we should consider fun.’ And then after the show, she always went back to, ‘Well, I really want to keep working.’ And that just pretty much makes it an impossible situation,” Turner told Us Weekly about what really went down in his relationship with Nist.<\/p>\n Turner also explained that he was almost blindsided by Nist, who decided to release a personal statement about the divorce on social media, when she and Turner agreed to go through the process together.<\/p>\n The former reality star did admit his own faults, telling Us Weekly that he was “a bit naive” and a “bad listener.” However, when asked if he was worried about Nist reading his memoir, he offered a bold response.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m not worried; I think she should be worried,” he said.<\/p>\n Turner has moved on from his reality television experience and has found love again. On Oct. 3, he announced that he’s engaged to be married.<\/p>\n “We’ve got BIG news. The Golden Bachelor is OFF the market.
