NORTHAMPTON \u2014 All aboard the Haunted Train at Look Park<\/a> where riders of all ages, especially the young ones, can enjoy a friendly-scary excursion along the rails of the popular park train.<\/p>\n The Haunted Train timetable is Oct. 17-19, 24-26, and 30 departing from 4-8 p.m. at the park train depot, which is decorated appropriately for the season. Rides last about 12 minutes.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are plenty of really scary, more dramatic haunting attractions in the area that we can\u2019t compete with, so we are catering to the younger crowd who really don\u2019t want to be too scared,\u201d said Justin Pelis, executive director of Look Park.<\/p>\n Even the promotional advertising for the Haunted Train claims: \u201cWe promise it\u2019s not too scary!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe do have performers dressed in costume who jump out at the train as it goes along the rails, but they don\u2019t jump on the train or touch anyone. And when you go through the darkened tunnel, we have a fog machine. The train also stops at one point at the Witch\u2019s Hut, where witches come out to give riders goodie bags,\u201d Pelis said.<\/p>\n In conjunction with the Haunted Train, on Saturday, Oct. 25, the park will host a Fall Festival from noon to 8:30 p.m. at the Train Depo. It will feature music, food, crafts, games, face painting, and costume contests with prizes for \u201cbest family,\u201d \u201cmore serious,\u201d \u201cmost creative,\u201d and more. <\/p>\n For fun and games, Look Park has partnered with the Northampton Parks and Recreation Department to create \u201cSpooky Hollow Kidzland,\u201d featuring bounce attractions, carnival games, arts and crafts, and lawn games on the ballfield. One wrist band for $10 is good from 1-4 p.m.<\/p>\n For some tasty fun, several food trucks \u2014 including Local Burger, Crepes Nanou and Cousins Maine Lobster \u2014 will be serving up eats for fairgoers. Look Park will also have its own concession area selling popcorn, cider donuts and hot and cold apple cider.<\/p>\n For those old enough to imbibe, there will be a Boneyard Beer Garden featuring the park\u2019s own Pines IPA and Look Park Lager from Amherst Brewery, as well as other options.<\/p>\n The talents of area craft vendors will be on display as they sell everything from laser engraved coasters and more, hair feathers and jewelry, greeting cards, take-home cookie making kits, hand-turned bowls and cutting boards and more.<\/p>\n Lively music adding to the frivolity will be husband-and-wife musical duo Tom and Corrie from 1-3 p.m., Liam Music Show from 3:15 -4 p.m., and Maxtones from 5-7 p.m.<\/p>\n Of course, there will be train rides through the day, including the Haunted Train in the evening.<\/p>\n Ride tickets, during both the festival and other days for the Haunted Train, are $7 for adults 13 and older, $5 for ages 2 to 12, and $1 for kids under 2.<\/p>\n Additionally, there is a $10 entry fee to Look Park all day during the festival.
