It\u2019s been three years since Slipknot dropped their most recent album \u2014 The End, So Far<\/em> \u2014 and the band\u2019s new drummer, Eloy Casagrande, is now saying that they have new music \u201ccooking.\u201d<\/p>\n In a recent interview with\u00a0Drummer\u2019s Review<\/a><\/em>, Casgrande \u2014 who replaced previous Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg \u2014 shared that the band has been working on new music, but nothing is set in stone as of yet. \u201cWhat I can tell you right now is that we are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure. Yes, we are,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cSince I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, so we are always doing something,\u201d Casagrande added. \u201cWe had also some jam sessions. So, we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it\u2019s happening. It already happened. It\u2019s gonna happen in the future. So new material is coming, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Slipknot guitar player Jim Root gave a backstage interview to\u00a0Guitar Interactive<\/a><\/em>\u2018s\u00a0Jonathan Graham\u00a0and confessed that the band was \u201cnot diligently\u201d working on new music. \u201cHonestly, we\u2019ve been touring so much since Eloy Casagrande joined the band that my inspiration is nearly zero,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Casagrande joined Slipknot in early 2024, after playing with Sepultura for several years. His addition to the band \u2014 which came after their most recent album, The End, So Far<\/em> (2022) \u2014has been a refreshing change, Root says, but hasn\u2019t necessarily influenced their creativity.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd there\u2019s a bunch of music that was written during COVID that I\u2019m not interested in,\u201d Root confessed<\/a>. \u201cAnd I think everybody else in the band gets it too, and I think they\u2019re kind of, like, \u2018Okay, we need to just kind of, like, maybe sweep all that shit under a rug and start fresh.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI wanna get touring behind us. I wanna have at least a month off just to shut my brain off and sleep and all that kind of stuff,\u201d Root clarified. \u201cAnd then when I find myself going out to my little home studio and putting riffs together, then I\u2019ll know it\u2019s time to start.\u201d<\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n
