Despite creating one of television\u2019s longest-running dramas, she admitted that she isn\u2019t sure how the medical series will eventually come to an end. The creator <\/strong>also expressed her appreciation for the viewers who continued to support the series for two decades.<\/p>\n Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey\u2019s Anatomy, admitted hat she never imagined that the series would become one of television\u2019s longest-running dramas.<\/p>\n Appearing on NBC\u2019s Today show on October 13, Rhimes reflected on the show\u2019s remarkable run and her uncertainty over its ending. She said, \u201cI\u2019d say back around episode 150 I knew how it was gonna end.\u201d<\/p>\n The creator added that she had no idea that show would survive beyond four or five seasons. She explained, \u201cNow we\u2019re at 450\u2014I have no idea. I mean, I wasn\u2019t sure we\u2019d get past season four or five. So the fact that we\u2019re here in 22, season 22, is insane.\u201d<\/p>\n Rhimes, who served as showrunner until season eight, emphasized that the decision regarding the show\u2019s conclusion is no longer hers alone. She believes the conclusion will ultimately depend on both the cast and the audience.
