\u201cMy Father\u2019s Shadow<\/a>\u201d has been selected as the U.K.\u2019s official Oscar submission for best international feature at the 98th Academy Awards.<\/p>\n

The feature debut of Akinola Davies Jr.<\/a> and from Mubi<\/a>, Element Pictures<\/a> and Fatherland Productions<\/a>, \u201cMy Father\u2019s Shadow<\/a>\u201d \u2014 a Yoruba, Naija-Pidgin and English-language film \u2014 premiered earlier this year in Cannes\u2019 Un Certain Regard competition, where it became Nigeria\u2019s first title in the festival\u2019s official selection and earned Davies Jr. a Special Mention from the jury. It was chosen to represent the U.K. by a special BAFTA selection committee.<\/p>\n
