Iconic movie poster artist Drew Struzan<\/a> \u2014 who created the iconic marketing art for an enormous number of popular films \u2014 has died at the age of 78. Struzan was diagnosed with Alzheimer\u2019s Disease several years ago and retreated from public life.<\/p>\n

Struzan\u2019s official Instagram<\/a> account announced the news on Tuesday: \u201cIt is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that Drew Struzan has moved on from this world as of yesterday, October 13th. I feel it is important that you all know how many times he expressed to me the joy he felt knowing how much you appreciated his art.\u201d<\/p>\n

Struzan was once dubbed the \u201cone-sheet wonder,\u201d a go-to artist for Steven Spielberg<\/a> and George Lucas<\/a> who created the posters for films such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade<\/a>, Risky Business<\/a>, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back<\/a>, Back to the Future<\/a>, The Goonies<\/a>, The Thing<\/a> and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer\u2019s Stone<\/a>.<\/p>\n
