Sony Pictures<\/a> is counting on Jim Caviezel<\/a> to be a box office angel.<\/p>\n

The studio and Mandalay Pictures<\/a> announced Monday they have set a Nov. 6, 2026, release date for Archangel<\/a>, an action pic set to star Caviezel alongside Olivia Thirlby<\/a>, Garret Dillahunt<\/a> and Shea Whigham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The newly announced project originated when Mandalay brought Sony<\/a> a script by Chris Papasadero<\/a> and Randall Wallace<\/a>, with Caviezel attached to star and David Zelon<\/a> and Peter Guber<\/a> on deck to produce. Next, Will Eubank was attached to direct.<\/p>\n

Caviezel is best known for his acclaimed performance as Jesus in Mel Gibson<\/a>\u2019s The Passion of the Christ<\/a>, one of the highest-grossing independent films of all time. He more recently starred in the box office breakout hit Sound of Freedom<\/a>, and previously led the long-running CBS<\/a> series Person of Interest<\/a>.<\/p>\n
