Busta Rhymes has taken legal action<\/a> against his former assistant. The rapper has filed a defamation counterclaim against Dashiel Gables, who accused Busta Rhymes of punching him in the face.<\/p>\n According to Billboard,<\/a> the 53-year-old <\/a>asserted that the public lawsuit damaged his reputation, causing him to lose two advertising campaigns, and caused him humiliation and embarrassment.<\/p>\n \u201cSmith did not assault or batter Gables,\u201d detailed Rhymes\u2019 attorney\u00a0Patrick Butler. \u201cGables knew the statements were false, or acted with reckless disregard for the truth, including by fabricating allegations of criminal conduct and violence, omitting exculpatory facts, and deliberately ignoring contrary evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n In the initial lawsuit filed earlier this year Gables accused the rapper, legal name Trevor Smith, of assault and creating a hostile work environment<\/a>. He alleged that Smith punched him in the face, causing a swollen eye, and that he was later fired and blackballed. Gables\u2019 lawsuit also accused Smith of spitting in employees\u2019 faces, smacking them on the back of the head, and grabbing their clothes.<\/p>\n He also alleged that Smith called him a\u00a0homophobic slur<\/a>, mocked his poor hearing, and threatened to \u201cbloody [his] face.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDefendants constructively terminated plaintiff\u2019s employment by repeatedly punching him in the face,\u201d the filing read.
