Bruce Willis<\/a>\u2019 wife Emma Heming has made a devastating admission about their kids after the Hollywood<\/a> icon\u2019s dementia diagnosis. Bruce, 70, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia<\/a> in 2023 \u2013 a progressive brain condition which affects personality, behaviour and language. Now Emma, 47, admitted Bruce\u2019s children are already \u201cgrieving\u201d their father.<\/p>\n

Bruce has five daughters \u2013 Rumer, Scout and Tallulah with his ex-wife Demi Moore<\/a>, and Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn with Emma. Though his three oldest daughters are in their 30s, Mabel is only 13, while Evelyn is 11.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Emma told Vogue Australia: \u201cI think they\u2019re doing well, all things considered, but it\u2019s hard. They grieve, they miss their dad so much.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s missing important milestones, that’s tough for them – but kids are resilient, [although] I used to hate hearing that because people didn’t understand what we were walking through.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

She went on: \u201cI don\u2019t know if my kids will ever bounce back, but they\u2019re learning and so am I.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bruce has moved into a new home since his FTD diagnosis, where he is supported by carers 24\/7. Emma confessed it was \u201cone of the hardest decisions I ever had to make\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n

During an interview with the Sunday Times, she said: \u201cAmong the sadness and discomfort, it was the right move \u2014 for him, for our girls, for me. Ultimately, I could get back to being his wife. And that’s such a gift.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s made such a difference for more friends and family to have their own experience with him without it being my home, without me hovering, or my anxiety of how to manage the guest and their expectations, and then have to see their reactions – their sadness at what is.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
