Searchlight Pictures<\/a> has announced The Roses<\/a><\/strong> digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates for its latest black comedy, led by award-winning actors Benedict Cumberbatch<\/a> (The Power of the Dog) and Olivia Colman<\/a> (The Favourite). The movie is a reimagining of Danny DeVito\u2019s classic 1989 film The War of the Roses, which starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the film, life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Colman) and Theo (Cumberbatch): successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the fa\u00e7ade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing \u2013 as Theo\u2019s career nosedives while Ivy\u2019s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites,\u201d reads the official synopsis.<\/p>\n The Roses will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on October 21, 2025. Afterward, the movie will then be available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD on November 25, 2025. Since its theatrical debut, the movie has garnered a Popcornmeter rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>.<\/p>\n The movie was directed by Jay Roach from a screenplay written by Tony McNamara, based on Warren Adler\u2019s 1981 novel The War of the Roses.
