At a recent screening in Brooklyn for the documentary John Candy: I Like Me, Ryan Reynolds<\/a><\/strong>, who produced the movie, shared a story about trying to get Bill Murray<\/strong> to sign on to the project, but omitted the name of his wife, Blake Lively<\/a><\/strong>. This story comes several weeks after a separate event in New Jersey, where Reynolds told the same story. However, he also revealed that he had insulted his wife. My kids showed up,\u201d the Canadian-American actor added. \u201cThey woke up and my daughter\u2019s behind me and I\u2019m in the middle of it. I\u2019m like, \u2018Don\u2019t you do it.\u2019 I\u2019m leaving a message for Bill. She\u2019ll just choke you out; she\u2019s five.\u201d Reynolds said that then his two-year-old son showed up, after which he said, \u201cTell Bill to do the d*** interview.\u201d<\/p>\n The 48-year-old\u2019s children were instrumental in getting Murray to sign on to the John Candy documentary after Reynolds pleaded with the Ghostbusters<\/a> icon. The Aviation Gin founder then said that Murray texted him, asking how he could help.<\/p>\n Ryan Reynolds\u2019 story is the same one he narrated during the screening of the movie at the New Jersey theater, but with the name of Blake Lively deliberately excluded. In that event<\/a>, which took place on September 25, he said he had left \u201c40 messages\u201d for Murray, asking the latter to join the documentary.<\/p>\n \u201cFunny, I\u2019m on my way to some gala thing and I rarely go to a fancy tuxedo [event],\u201d Reynolds continued (via The Daily Mail<\/a>). \u201cI\u2019m there with my wife and we\u2019re about to walk in and my phone buzzes, and I look at it.
