Collider<\/a> spoke with Vision Quest star Paul Bettany following Marvel\u2019s panel at New York Comic Con. During the interview, he discussed the Disney+ spin-off and teased new details about White Vision\u2019s internal world. \u201cOne of the things that\u2019s fun about that is that we finally get to see what it\u2019s like inside Vision\u2019s mind, and it\u2019s more cluttered than you would think,\u201d Bettany said.<\/p>\n\u201cHe\u2019s clearly been saving and copying and pasting them to keep them alive inside his head. One of them, of course, has to be kept behind a pretty impressive firewall because he\u2019s a psychopath. But he\u2019s a clever one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bettany confirmed that Vision\u2019s consciousness holds multiple artificial intelligences, including Iron Man\u2019s DUM-E and U, both featured in the series. He referred to a \u201cpsychopath,\u201d pointing to Ultron, played again by James Spader, indicating that Vision still battles traces of his creator\u2019s programming. This conflict drives the series\u2019 focus on Vision\u2019s evolving identity and his struggle to achieve emotional autonomy.<\/p>\n
Terry Matalas, the Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner and VisionQuest creator, developed the series to continue White Vision\u2019s story after WandaVision. Bettany noted, \u201cWhen we leave him, he\u2019s given access to all of Red Vision\u2019s memories, even his memories within the hex.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cTerry had a really great pitch for how he was going to\u2026 he\u2019s struggling. White Vision is really struggling with how he was going to attach feeling to those memories.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bettany praised Matalas\u2019 visual approach to depicting Vision\u2019s psychological and emotional evolution. Alongside Bettany and Spader, the cast includes Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., T\u2019Nia Miller as Jocasta, Todd Stashwick as Paladin, and Faran Tahir reprising his role as Raza. Directed by Christopher J. Byrne and Gandja Monteiro, VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
