desire for a slimmed-down monarchy has long been a subject of debate among royal watchers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">For many, the European royal model of focusing on a smaller number of key players is the favoured option &#8211; but with <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/prince_harry\/index.html\" id=\"mol-5d1d9de0-a9a7-11f0-951e-e901ca4e734d\">Prince Harry<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/meghan-markle\/index.html\" id=\"mol-5d186dc0-a9a7-11f0-951e-e901ca4e734d\">Meghan Markle<\/a> and Prince Andrew all stepping back from royal duty &#8211;\u00a0the fold has shrunk rapidly &#8211; and now there are just 11 working members of the Firm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">And of those current working members have an average age of 70 &#8211; with the Prince and <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/kate_middleton\/index.html\" id=\"mol-5d1e1310-a9a7-11f0-951e-e901ca4e734d\">Princess of Wales<\/a> the only working members under 60.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">So it&#8217;s no wonder royal experts have thought <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/prince_william\/index.html\" id=\"mol-5d1dc4f0-a9a7-11f0-951e-e901ca4e734d\">Prince William<\/a> may look to his Generation Z cousin <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/lady-louise-windsor\/index.html\" id=\"mol-5d1400f0-a9a7-11f0-951e-e901ca4e734d\">Lady Louise Windsor<\/a> to breathe some fresh air into the monarchy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Lady Louise, 21, is currently in fourth year of an English degree at William and Kate&#8217;s alma mater St. Andrews, and may take on some royal responsibilities when she graduates.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Louise&#8217;s parents,\u00a0the Duke of Edinburgh, 61, and his wife Sophie, 60, are the second youngest pair in the Firm and are becoming increasingly popular and high-profile.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">In fact, royal author and expert Christopher Wilson <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/article-15132831\/Prince-William-running-Royals.html\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\">recently described Lady Louise as the\u00a0&#8216;dark-horse contender&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Mr Wilson added that among the younger royals William could call upon for help are his\u00a0cousin Zara Phillips, who is highly popular &#8211; however, she has a business and life outside royal life.<\/p>\n<div class=\"artSplitter mol-img-group\" style=\"\">\n<div class=\"mol-img\" style=\"height: auto;\">\n<div class=\"image-wrap\">  <\/div><\/div>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">Lady Louise is currently studying English Literature at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, which is where Kate and William&#8217;s relationship blossomed (pictured right, with Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, in 2022)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Looking at the prince&#8217;s cousins\u00a0Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, while it appeared at one point that they may\u00a0play a greater role in public royal life, further recent scandals that have emerged surrounding their parents the Duke and Duchess of York could rule that out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">At some point, William and his wife Kate&#8217;s three children may take on a greater public role, but it appears the Wales are keen to keep their children&#8217;s lives as &#8216;normal&#8217; as possible for as long as they can.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In any case, while the\u00a0future king-but-one, Prince George, 12, may step onto the public stage after university (which will be around 2034), his younger siblings Charlotte, 10, and Louis, seven, may not choose to become full-time royals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">There is Lady Louise&#8217;s younger brother James, 17, but little is known about the teenager who is currently a pupil at Radley, the Berkshire public school.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">And when it comes to Lady Louise, she has\u00a0some interesting links between Prince William &#8211; not least of which, they both appear popular with the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Among them, Lady Louise followed in the Prince of Wales&#8217;s footsteps by enrolling in St Andrews University &#8211; Pictured at last year&#8217;s Coronation<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The university student, who cemented herself within the eyes of royal watchers thanks to her position as the late Prince Philip&#8217;s &#8216;favourite grandchild&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">However, unlike her cousin,\u00a0Lady Louise was able to be more shielded from the public gaze when she was young, but she has reportedly long been dear to the heart of the <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/index.html\" id=\"mol-098636c0-a91a-11f0-ac84-89bb288ce003\" target=\"_self\">Royal Family<\/a> and was particularly close to her late grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Philip, <a target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/prince-philip\/index.html\" id=\"mol-098636c1-a91a-11f0-ac84-89bb288ce003\" target=\"_self\" class=\"\">Duke of Edinburgh<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Lady Louise was their seventh grandchild.
