Legendary rock musician Dave Mason retired from touring recently due to health issues. <\/p>\n
The 79-year-old made the revelation on social media with a statement <\/b><\/a>saying he was \u201cclosing the curtain on 60 remarkable years of rock n\u2019 roll and marking the end of a signiant era in music history.\u201d<\/p>\n Mason announced back in June that he was cancelling his tour for the second consecutive year to deal with \u201congoing health issues.\u201d He cancelled the remaining dates on his \u201cTraffic Jame 2024\u201d tour last September. He said at the time that he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition that required immediate medical attention.<\/p>\n A post on Mason\u2019s Instagram <\/b><\/a>last year announced the tour cancellation and said the heart condition was discovered \u201cduring a routine appointment.\u201d<\/p>\n Mason\u2019s statement in June announcing the 2025 cancellation said that after recovering from a procedure related to his heart condition he came down with \u201ca severe infection in March, which he has been courageously battling ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors \u2014 this has been challenging territory, to say the least,\u201d Mason said at the time. \u201cA heartfelt thank you to all the fans, and to my family, band, agents, and the venues who\u2019ve waited patiently and supported me throughout this journey. Your kind messages have lifted my spirits more than words can express.<\/p>\n \u201cRecovery is a long road.
