Yes, that iconic Notebook \u2013 the one that had you reaching for a tissue box, or, years later, maybe had you cringing at what you\u2019d just watched.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a recent interview with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/news\/nicholas-sparks-m-night-shyamalan-book-remain-movie-1236551212\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Variety;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Variety<\/a>, Sparks revealed why it never happened: \u201cHe was busy writing this movie, \u2018The Sixth Sense.\u2019 I don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve heard of that movie. I wonder how that eventually did?\u201d he added, \u201cThe original writer was Jan Sardi, and they decided to go with a new writer after that, that ended up being Jeremy Leven, but they had asked Night Shyamalan to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">We may have never gotten that version, but instead, we got two films that did well individually.
