The Avett Brothers<\/a> and Mike Patton<\/a> have released a second single from their forthcoming collaborative album, AVTT\/PTTN<\/em><\/a>, arriving November 14th.<\/p>\n \u201cHeaven\u2019s Breath\u201d is a heavier offering \u2014 especially for the Avett Brothers \u2014 featuring fuzzed-out guitar and a driving post-punk groove. Patton holds down the lead vocal, with the Avetts providing their harmonies during the melodic build-up in the chorus.<\/p>\n The track was Scott Avett\u2019s first contribution to the AVTT\/PTTN<\/em> project \u2014 an initial offering to \u201ccrank the saw a little bit,\u201d as described in the press release. It follows the previously released lead single, \u201cEternal Love,\u201d and the press release notes that these will be the only advance tracks from the album.<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n The nine-song LP was produced by Patton, Scott Avett, and Grammy-winning engineer Dana Nielsen (Metallica, Rihanna).<\/p>\n \u201cMike\u2019s part of our DNA, like the fabric of our youth,\u201d Scott said of the unlikely collab via a press statement upon the LP\u2019s announcement. \u201cLiterally, we studied him. He\u2019s a dear friend now, but when we were younger, I was imitating him.\u201d<\/p>\n Joked Patton in his own statement: \u201cMy peculiar challenge in this was to become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some shit.
