The legendary photographer Douglas Kirkland, known for his intimate and iconic images of Hollywood\u2019s elite, is celebrated in a new photo book, <\/span>Romance<\/span><\/i>. Published posthumously, the book is edited by his wife, Fran\u00e7oise Kirkland, and Sarah Menahem. <\/span><\/p>\n Far more than a collection of photographs, Fran\u00e7oise Kirkland describes it as \u201ca love letter to anyone who is as hopeless a romantic as I am\u201d. The idea came to Fran\u00e7oise one night shortly after Douglas died. Overcome with sadness and the realization that her husband, a dreamer who \u201csaw the world better through his camera,\u201d would no longer take pictures, she spent the night looking through his archive for images that spoke to her of \u201clove, connection, togetherness\u201d.
