In between H\u00fcsker D\u00fc and his solo career, Bob Mould<\/a> famously helmed the ’90s alt-rock outfit Sugar<\/a>, who played their final concert in January 1995. While Mould performed the band’s debut album Copper Blue<\/i> on tour in 2012, there were never any inklings of an official reunion until the launch of new social accounts last week. Now, lo and behold: Sugar have announced shows for 2026, and have a new song out now.<\/p>\n Ahead of gigs in New York City (May 2 and 3) and London, UK, (May 23 and 24) next spring, Sugar have released “House of Dead Memories” \u2014 their first new music since the 1994 album File Under: Easy Listening<\/i>, as well as the 1995 compilation Besides<\/i> and a 2015 live album recorded back in 1994. This June, Mould, David Barbe and Malcolm Travis recorded new material at the Tiny Telephone studio in Oakland, CA.<\/p>\n “I don’t want to get out too far in front of the skis, as they say,” Mould told Rolling Stone<\/i><\/a> of the extent of Sugar’s reunion plans. “People’s reactions will probably guide a lot of the possibilities in front of us, whether it’s more songs or more shows. All three of us are all in for whatever feels right.
