Britney Spears\u2019<\/a> sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline, allegedly told their father about a concerning experience they had while staying at the \u201cOops!… I Did It Again\u201d singer\u2019s home years ago.<\/p>\n Kevin Federline, their father and Spears\u2019 ex-husband, writes about this alleged alarming incident in his new memoir \u201cYou Thought You Knew,\u201d<\/a> <\/i>which is set to release on Oct 21. While Federline never witnessed this firsthand, he says his sons told him Spears would stand quietly in their bedroom doorway at night, wielding a knife. <\/p>\n \u201cThey would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep \u2014 \u2019Oh, you\u2019re awake?\u2019 \u2014 with a knife in her hand,\u201d Federline wrote in his book, per an excerpt from the New York Times<\/a>. \u201cThen she\u2019d turn around and pad off without explanation.\u201d<\/p>\n Federline and Spears married in 2004 and finalized their divorce in 2007. In his upcoming release, he details his account of the end of their marriage, claiming Spears\u2019 drug and alcohol use and angry outbursts caused it to implode. After a messy custody battle, Federline got full custody of Sean and Jayden in 2008. He currently lives with them in Hawaii.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear when Spears last saw her sons, but in December 2024, she posted a video<\/a> on Instagram of her celebrating with Jayden, calling it \u201cthe best Christmas of my life.\u201d She also wrote that she hadn\u2019t seen her sons in two years.<\/p>\n Federline also confirmed to the New York Times in an interview that he hasn\u2019t spoken with Spears in years. However, he expressed concern over his ex-wife\u2019s current situation.<\/p>\n \u201cThe truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it\u2019s racing toward something irreversible,\u201d Federline wrote.<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s become impossible to pretend everything\u2019s OK,\u201d he adds. \u201cFrom where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we\u2019re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don\u2019t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.\u201d<\/p>\n He also claimed that the \u201cFree Britney\u201d movement, which helped end her 13-year conservatorship<\/a>, was more harmful than helpful to Spears, but didn\u2019t elaborate on why.<\/p>\n Spears\u2019 conservatorship began the month after Federline got custody of their two sons. Initially, it was supposed to be temporary, but later became permanent. Spears\u2019 father, Jamie, initiated the legal arrangement and served as her conservator until the conservatorship ended in 2021.<\/p>\n While Spears has been free for a few years, fans have expressed strong concerns over her social media activity, previously posting nude and erratic dancing videos.
