{"id":2093879,"date":"2025-10-15T21:05:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T21:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2093879"},"modified":"2025-10-15T21:05:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T21:05:08","slug":"entertainment-scotsfest-set-for-batesville-spooky-concert-by-candle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/entertainment-scotsfest-set-for-batesville-spooky-concert-by-candle\/","title":{"rendered":"ENTERTAINMENT: ScotsFest set for Batesville; spooky concert by candle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"zephr-nwa\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><u>FUN<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ScotsFest 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bagpipes and Highland games will be the order of two days at Lyon College, 2300 Highland Road, Batesville, as it hosts ScotsFest 2025, the 45th Arkansas Scottish Festival, Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The weekend\u2019s events kick off Friday with open Lyon College classes, vendors and Scottish clan gatherings, a Scottish Heritage Program director\u2019s reception and a free rocket-building workshop.<\/p>\n<p>Combined with homecoming weekend, Friday\u2019s lineup concludes with the annual alumni awards celebration on campus and an all-alumni social at Polk &amp; Paddle in downtown Batesville.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s lineup includes Highland heavy athletics; living history presentations by MacLachlan\u2019s Jacobite Highlanders and Colonel Munro\u2019s 37th Regiment of Foot; Scottish dancing; sheepdog demonstrations; pipe band performances; a British car show; and a dog show. New this year: a petting zoo.<\/p>\n<p>More than 20 Scottish clans will have displays and information about their unique histories and traditions in the clan village.<\/p>\n<p>Entertainment throughout the weekend will include performances by Celtic rock bands Mudmen and Barleyjuice, Celtic high-soprano singer-songwriter Misty Posey, entertainer and bagpipe educator Patrick Regan and the all-female Central High School Kiltie Drum and Bugle Corps of Springfield, Mo. The festival will also offer authentic, traditional foods, including savory meat pies and Scottish pastries.<\/p>\n<p>The festival culminates on Sunday with a Kirkin\u2019 o\u2019 the Tartan worship service and the annual Club 50 luncheon.<\/p>\n<p>General admission is free; some alumni and festival activities, including the Friday evening alumni awards banquet, the Saturday evening c\u00e8ilidh feast and entertainment zone, require tickets.
