Back to the Future: The Musical opened this week at the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls.<\/p>\n
Rapid City man arrested for manslaughter <\/a><\/p>\n David Josefsberg first saw Back to the Future as a teenager in 1985.<\/p>\n \u201cI was so excited because I was already starting to be an actor and I thought I am going to be Marty McFly, so I just had to wait until I got elderly to play Doc Brown,\u201d Josefsburg said.<\/p>\n As Josefsburg plays a quirky scientist, Lucas Hallauer portrays the time-traveling teenager Marty McFly.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s really cool to be able to take an iconic character that people love and be able to bring an extra layer to that. Obviously, we have music and song and dance, which obviously wasn\u2019t a thing in the movie,\u201d Hallauer said.<\/p>\n Cast members say if you enjoy the original movie, you\u2019ll like the musical.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you know the movie, there\u2019s a DeLorean, and we do have one of those on stage with us and it\u2019s really cool to see how the technical team has put together those time travel sequences and to see the car racing through the streets of Hill Valley and traveling back in time,\u201d Hallauer said.<\/p>\n Even if you\u2019re newer to the 1980s classic, Josefsburg says you\u2019ll still be entertained.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019ve never seen it, it stands alone. I tell the story, I have two teenage kids, and they\u2019re boys like, \u2018Okay, dad, you\u2019re real cool.\u2019 They came and saw it and said, \u2018Hey, dad, can I come back on the weekend with my friends?’\u201d Josefsburg said.<\/p>\n Back to to the Future: The Musical continues its run at the Washington Pavilion through the weekend.<\/p>\n For times and ticket information, click here. <\/a><\/p>\n Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
