Diane Keaton<\/strong>\u2019s cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n On Thursday, October 15 the Annie Hall<\/em> star\u2019s family confirmed that Keaton died of pneumonia.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11,\u201d her family told People<\/em> in a statement<\/a> published on Thursday, October 15.<\/p>\n \u201cShe loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community,\u201d the family continued in the statement. \u201cSo any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.\u201d<\/p>\n As Star<\/em> previously reported<\/a>, the Godfather<\/em> actress died earlier this week at the age of 79.<\/p>\n Following news of her passing, countless Hollywood stars paid tribute to Keaton.<\/p>\n \u201cDiane, we aren\u2019t ready to lose you,\u201d her First Wives<\/em> costar Goldie Hawn<\/strong> began wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination.\u201d<\/p>\n Steve Martin<\/strong> \u2014 who starred alongside the Oscar-winning actress in Father of the Bride<\/em> and its sequel Father of the Bride Part II<\/em> \u2014 took to social media to share a look back on the very first project that brought them together.<\/p>\n \u201cThis playbill is from a 1964 college production of Carousel. Diane \u2018Hall\u2019 (Keaton) is the lead; I\u2019m a stage hand,\u201d he captioned an Instagram<\/a> photo featuring an old photo of the program from their days as acting students at Santa Ana College in Southern California.<\/p>\n Keaton\u2019s ex, Woody Allen<\/strong>, wrote a tribute published in The Free Press on Sunday on October 12, per the Mirror.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cA few days ago, the world was a place that included Diane Keaton. Now it\u2019s a world that does not,\u201d he penned. \u201cHence, it\u2019s a drearier world. Still, there are her movies.
