Actress Valerie Bertinelli<\/a><\/strong> took to social media on Oct. 15 to share a strong warning for her fans, imploring them not to send money or reveal personal information to someone pretending to be her.<\/p>\n The Hot in Cleveland<\/a> star began her new video on Instagram, saying, “Some people have been scammed under my name, and I don’t like it.”<\/p>\n “You may get a DM from someone saying they’re me, or someone who works for me, and they’re gonna ask you for money, or they’re gonna ask to be your friend,” Bertinelli went on, before declaring, “It’s not me. It’s not anybody that works for me.”<\/p>\n The 65-year-old told fans, “Please don’t give out any of your information, any of your credit card information, to anybody that says they’re me, or someone who works for me, that’s asking for money, ’cause I’m not gonna do that, ever.”<\/p>\n “This internet is just\u2026 it can be so great, but it can also be really f—-d up, so please protect yourself,” she told fans, before reiterating that neither she nor anyone working for her would ever request money from fans.<\/p>\n Bertinelli signed off with the sweet message, “Be safe. Love you.”<\/p>\n Fans in the comments thanked Bertinelli for the warning, with some recounting past experiences getting messages like the actress described.<\/p>\n “I see this a lot and I report them. Stay aware and safe,” said one fan, while a similar comment read, “I definitely got a request on Tik Tok from someone pretending to be you and I was like ‘nah that’s not my home girl’. I love you too!\ud83d\udc95.”<\/p>\n Another person shared the personal anecdote, “Thanks for speaking out! I know a woman that lost her retirement savings to this for a different celebrity.
