Exclusive: In a sign that studios are willing to spend big on original ideas by proven hitmakers, Miramax<\/a> has paid seven figures upfront for London Ghost Tour. That is a high price for a pitch, a four-quadrant film that will be written by Terry Rossio<\/a> from a story he wrote with Jocelyn Stamat<\/a>. Josh Cooley<\/a> is attached to direct.<\/p>\n

Cooley<\/a> directed Transformers One<\/a> and Toy Story 4<\/a>, and his credits include Up<\/a>, Inside Out<\/a> and other animated hits. Rossio\u2019s script work includes the blockbusters Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl<\/a>, National Treasure<\/a>, Shrek<\/a> \u2014 for which he earned an Adapted Screenplay Oscar nom and a BAFTA and Annie Award \u2014 Aladdin<\/a> and other tentpoles, culminating most recently with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire<\/a>. The collective gross on films he\u2019s either scripted or co-written is around $12 billion.<\/p>\n

Lorenzo Dibonaventura<\/a> and Mark Vahradian<\/a> are producing for their Di Bonaventura Pictures<\/a> banner.<\/p>\n
