Publisher Chucklefish and co-developer Robotality\u00a0have some sad news<\/u><\/a> for fans of their upcoming magical life simulator game\u00a0Witchbrook.<\/u><\/a> The game was originally set to launch in Winter 2025, but has now been delayed to sometime in 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the developers didn\u2019t just have bad news to share; they\u2019ve also given players a closer look at Witchbrook\u2019s in-game map.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Life simulator game Witchbrook gets delayed to 2026<\/h2>\n

In a dev blog post, co-developers Chucklefish and Robotality shared an update on Witchbrook. The charming life simulator game has made waves online since its debut, thanks to its gorgeous pixel art, magical school gameplay loop, and cosy aesthetics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The game was originally scheduled to launch in Winter 2025, but the developers note that \u201cdespite great development progress this year, we\u2019ve made the difficult decision to shift the release into next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The delay doesn\u2019t seem to be a sign of a troubled game development cycle, however. The blog post affirms that Witchbrook is \u201ctaking shape exactly as we hoped; full of charm, depth and detail,\u201d though it needs time \u201cto ensure the world feels rich, immersive, and alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The developers note that the extra development time this delay has afforded will allow them to explore more in-game features \u201cincluding additional platforms and language support we hadn\u2019t initially planned!\u201d<\/p>\n

Witchbrook\u2019s new in-game map revealed<\/h2>\n

To ensure that it\u2019s not all bad news, the blog post also includes a reveal for\u00a0Witchbrook\u2019s in-game map,<\/u><\/a> located in a region named Mossport. The developers didn\u2019t share a simple image file either, but an entire interactive map for players to explore and take in before the game releases.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Judging by the interactive map, Mossport appears to be a rather dense location for players to explore. The developers note that all \u201cthe coloured areas you see here on the map are playable areas,\u201d which seems to include the large forest and crops of foliage that take up half of the map\u2019s space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Points of interest include the Shadhollow Forest, Parasol Sands, Whitecap Esplanade, and more\u2013even the magical school players will attend consists of multiple smaller locations worth exploring.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chucklefish and Robotality plan to share more development updates on Witchbrook later this year, including a blog focused on character customisation. Witchbrook is now set to launch sometime in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
