AP Photo\/Chris Pizzello<\/span><\/p>\n The family of Diane Keaton revealed her cause of death in a statement shared with People magazine<\/a> on Wednesday, less than a week after the Oscar-winning actress died<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n Buzz: Stephen Colbert Trolls Trump\u2019s Time Magazine Tantrum With A Brutal Throwback<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Her family added that Keaton \u201cloved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.\u201d<\/p>\n The legendary actor \u2014 best known for her roles in \u201cAnnie Hall,\u201d the Woody Allen movie that won her the Oscar for Best Actress in 1978, and \u201cThe Godfather\u201d \u2014 died in California Saturday, a family spokesperson told People at the time.
