We don\u2019t. Musicians\u2019 rights matter. Copyright is essential. If the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/shirley-manson-makes-alarm-call-speech-against-music-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Shirley Manson addresses crowd with message on the state of the music industry: \u201cThis is an alarm call\u201d\">music industry<\/a> doesn\u2019t lead in this moment, AI-powered innovation will happen elsewhere, without rights, consent, or compensation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement continued, \u201cTogether with rightsholders, artists, and songwriters, we are making significant investments in AI research and product development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They also promised that all products they establish through the collaboration \u201cwill put artists and songwriters first\u201d. At this stage, they have yet to reveal what products are in development.<\/p>\n<p>Spotify also shared the four key pillars for the project, which are through partnering with labels, distributors and publishers to develop new products for artists and fans, ensuring artists and rightsholders consent to their involvement, creating a new revenue stream for artists and rightsholders, and finally, using AI to bolster the connection between artists and fans.<\/p>\n<p>The streaming platform continued: \u201cWe\u2019ve begun building a state-of-the-art generative AI research lab and product team focused on developing technologies that reflect our principles.\u201d They assert their goal is to \u201censure the future of music innovation happens responsibly\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Alex Norstr\u00f6m, co-president and chief business officer at Spotify, said: \u201cTechnology should always serve artists, not the other way around.
