THE RUNDOWN<\/strong><\/p>\n Michelle Obama is launching a new project.<\/p>\n Through her and former president Barack Obama\u2019s media company, Higher Ground, the former first lady has announced IMO: The Look\u2014<\/em>a six-part limited companion series to her hit podcast, IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Premiering weekly beginning on November 5, the new show will explore Obama\u2019s style evolution through intimate conversations with the creative team behind her wardrobe, makeup, and hair. She\u2019ll also sit down with industry changemakers, including ELLE\u2019s own editor-in-chief Nina Garcia, Jane Fonda, Bethann Hardison, Elaine Welteroth, and Jenna Lyons, for intimate conversations about fashion and self-expression. <\/p>\n The podcast\u2019s release will coincide with her new book, The Look<\/a><\/em>, out on November 4, which also chronicles her style journey.<\/p>\n Regarding her decision to write the book, Obama said<\/a>, \u201cDuring our family\u2019s time in the White House, the way I looked was constantly being dissected\u2014what I wore, how my hair was styled. For a while now, I\u2019ve been wanting to reclaim more of that story, to share it in my own way. I\u2019m thankful to be at a stage in life where I feel comfortable expressing myself freely\u2014wearing what I love and doing what feels true to me. And I\u2019m excited to share some of what I\u2019ve learned along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cThe Look<\/em> is about more than fashion. It\u2019s about confidence. It\u2019s about identity. It\u2019s about the power of authenticity. My hope is that this book sparks conversation and reflection about the ways we see ourselves\u2014and the way our society defines beauty.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n And that\u2019s not all\u2014Obama will also host two live podcast tapings.
