\n\tWhile it took 16 years for the Cure<\/a> to release a new album before the arrival of 2024\u2019s Songs of a Lost World<\/a><\/em>, fans likely won\u2019t have to wait nearly that long for Robert Smith and company\u2019s next studio LP.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe band\u2019s official website updated its lengthy bio section<\/a> in recent weeks, with fans noticing one especially noteworthy sentence added to the career-spanning write-up: \u201cIn March 2025 the band went back into Rockfield Studios to record 13 more songs for a follow up album.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAdditionally, the bio noted that Smith also went \u201cback into the studio to help re-edit and re-mix The Show Of A Lost World film\u2026,\u201d which is likely the in-the-works concert film of a November 2024 performance at London\u2019s Troxy, where they performed Songs of a Lost World<\/em> in its entirety as well as other Cure classics.<\/p>\n

\n\tSmith previously hinted that the gap between Songs of a Lost World<\/em> and the band\u2019s next endeavor wouldn\u2019t take as long as the time between 2008\u2019s 4:13 Dream<\/em> and their latest album, as the group recorded three LPs\u2019 worth of music over the past few years.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is jumping about, but we recorded about 25 or 26 songs in 2019. We recorded three albums in 2019; that\u2019s always been the problem. I\u2019ve tried to get three albums completed,\u201d Smith said in an interview a month before Songs of a Lost World\u2019<\/em>s release.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt will work out this time. Having finished this one, the second one is virtually finished as well. The third one is a bit more difficult because, well if we get that far\u2026 Talking about the third album, you see what I mean? I just can\u2019t help myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
