\u201cShameless\u201d alum Cameron Monaghan is set to star in an upcoming \u201cBosch\u201d prequel.<\/p>\n
Monaghan, who rose to prominence as Ian Gallagher on \u201cShameless,\u201d will play the titular character in \u201cBosch: Start of Watch.\u201d The new series will center on a 26-year-old version of Harry Bosch, the detective created by crime fiction writer Michael Connelly.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnbelievably excited for this new chapter of my life and career. This is a great script and can\u2019t wait to immerse myself in this project,\u201d Monaghan wrote via Instagram<\/a> to celebrate his casting. <\/p>\n Omari Hardwick will play Bosch\u2019s training officer, police veteran Eli Bridges. Set in 1991 Los Angeles, \u201cBosch: Start of Watch\u201d follows the young detective as he is \u201cdrawn into a high-profile heist and a web of criminal corruption testing his loyalty to the badge.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cBosh,\u201d the first series based on Connelly\u2019s character of the same name, aired on Prime Video from 2014-2021 with Titus Welliver in the starring role.
