Ben Stiller<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s older sister, Amy Stiller<\/strong>, had a difficult time watching her brother\u2019s rise to fame.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just remember when I did the Nurse [in] Romeo and Juliet, I just remember I want to do this,\u201d Amy, 64, said to Ben, 59, in the AppleTV documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost<\/em>, which premiered on Friday, October 17. \u201cThat\u2019s why all those years when I was waitressing and you were getting famous, do you know how f***ing hard that was for me? Some of it was character building, but to a point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ben rose to fame in the late \u201890s after starring in countless comedies, including There\u2019s Something About Mary<\/em>, Meet the Parents<\/em>, Zoolander<\/em> and more. Amy, for her part, also had a desire to act but didn\u2019t have the same experience as her younger brother.<\/p>\n

Amy opened up about the pressure she felt growing up with famous parents. Amy and Ben are the children of the late comedy duo Jerry Stiller<\/strong> and Anne Meara<\/strong>. Jerry was also best known for playing Jason Alexander<\/strong>\u2019s father on Seinfeld<\/em>. (Meara died in May 2015 at age 85, while Jerry passed away in May 2020 at age 92.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBen Stiller is opening up about the mistakes he has made as a father of two. \u201cLike any parent, I remember things that weren\u2019t happy about my childhood and go, \u2018I\u2019ll do better,\u2019 Stiller, 59, told The Sunday Times in an interview published on Saturday, October 11, of what he learned not to do from [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cDad had an overprotectiveness that would stifle me, and I felt, like, paralyzed,\u201d she explained. \u201cThe thing is, you had something you could sink your teeth into. I don\u2019t remember, for me, anything that I felt that way about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy added that being the eldest daughter also contributed to her struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just felt intimidated because I was the oldest,\u201d she continued. \u201cLike, I had all these expectations. And it was a really tough time for women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ben acknowledged that because their parents were in the spotlight, neither one of them had the chance to \u201cfail anonymously.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a lot of opportunities, and I just didn\u2019t know what to do with them,\u201d Amy recalled of growing up with her parents and their connections in Hollywood. \u201cI didn\u2019t know who I was, and I look back on it and it was so painful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The documentary also showed home footage that included Amy in the background, expressing her frustration.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just sick of it. I\u2019m sick of Dad. I\u2019m sick of everything,\u201d she said in the old clip. \u201cThese tend to be negative.\u201d<\/p>\n
