\u201cProud Mary\u201d spitfire Tina Turner<\/strong> was no doubt spinning in her grave when a 10-foot bronze statue of her was unveiled in her hometown of Brownsville, Tenn.<\/p>\n The sculpture depicts the \u201cPrivate Dancer\u201d diva in her signature short skirt and sky-high heels with a microphone in her hand.<\/p>\n But what has the songbird\u2019s fans up in arms is the statue\u2019s unrealistic face and the giant blob of hair that looks more like Cousin Itt than the glamorous Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n PLA Media<\/span><\/p>\n It was created by Fred Ajanogha<\/strong>, an Atlanta-based artist who also designed works for the 1996 olympics and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.<\/p>\n Around 50 donors contributed funds to pay for the $150,000 project, according to Hyperallergic<\/a>. It was installed in Heritage Park across from the singer\u2019s alma mater, Carver High School, two years after her death at age 83.<\/p>\n But fans think they got ripped off.<\/p>\n PLA Media<\/span><\/p>\n Comedian Kevin Fredericks<\/strong> posted on X<\/a>, \u201cWhat\u2019s art got to do with it? Who is this? She deserved better!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is for someone you hate, not someone you love,\u201d a poster chimed in.<\/p>\n \u201cToo much wig, honey,\u201d snarked another.<\/p>\n \u201cThey need to remove and redo.
