Joe Manganiello is heading down the aisle again, two years after announcing his divorce from Sof\u00eda Vergara.<\/p>\n
The \u201cTrue Blood\u201d alum, who split from Vergara in 2023, revealed his engagement to actress and TV host Caitlin O\u2019Connor in an Instagram post on Friday, Oct. 17.<\/p>\n
The post features a photo of Manganiello, 48, and O\u2019Connor, 36, cuddling up for a sweet selfie with their dog, a chihuahua named Bubbles. O\u2019Connor can be seen resting her hand on Manganiello\u2019s forearm, showing off the sparkly engagement ring.<\/p>\n
\u201d June 24th, 2025 ,\u201d Manganiello wrote, seemingly referring to the date of his proposal.<\/p>\n
Manganiello reportedly introduced O\u2019Connor as his fianc\u00e9e during an appearance at the San Diego International Film Festival on Thursday, Oct. 16, per TMZ.<\/p>\n
Why did Joe Manganiello, Sof\u00eda Vergara break up?<\/span><\/p>\n Manganiello filed for divorce from Vergara on July 19, 2023, after seven years of marriage. Nearly two weeks later, the \u201cModern Family\u201d alum petitioned a Los Angeles court to dissolve her marriage with Manganiello due to irreconcilable differences and uphold the pair\u2019s prenuptial agreement.<\/p>\n Manganiello and Vergara reportedly finalized their divorce in February 2024, according to People magazine.<\/p>\n In a January 2024 interview with El Pa\u00eds, Vergara opened up about the breakdown of her marital relationship with Manganiello, citing the former couple\u2019s differing views on having children.<\/p>\n \u201cMy marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn\u2019t want to be an old mom,\u201d Vergara said at the time. \u201cI feel it\u2019s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that\u2019s not for me anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n Manganiello was Vergara\u2019s second husband. She was previously married to Joe Gonzalez, with whom she shares a son, 34-year-old Manolo Vergara. She and Gonzalez divorced in 1993.<\/p>\n However, in a July 2024 interview with Men\u2019s Journal, Manganiello disputed his ex\u2019s characterization of their divorce. \u201cThat\u2019s simply not true,\u201d he told the magazine. The issue of having children \u201cwasn\u2019t inevitably why everything ended. It\u2019s because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cTo be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years, turned to somebody and gave them an ultimatum of, \u2018Do this potentially unhealthy thing to your body, or else I\u2019m gone\u2019? That\u2019s never who I was.\u201d<\/p>\n Who is Caitlin O\u2019Connor?<\/span><\/p>\n A Los Angeles native, O\u2019Connor has appeared in several top TV shows over the years, including \u201cEntourage,\u201d \u201cKey and Peele,\u201d \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d and \u201cRay Donovan.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2023, O\u2019Connor landed a two-episode stint as Dyan Cannon on the HBO sports drama \u201cWinning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to acting, O\u2019Connor has hosted for E! News, Maxim, Arsenic, The Chive and AfterBuzz TV.<\/p>\n Aside from their romance, O\u2019Connor and Manganiello have bonded over their love of animals. In a May interview with USA Today, Manganiello dished on how O\u2019Connor turned their dog Bubbles into a social media star.<\/p>\n \u201cI swore I was never going to do an Instagram account for the dog, I wasn\u2019t going to be that guy,\u201d Manganiello said. \u201cBut my girlfriend started one.
